 PERFORMANCE ORDER

In total самоконтрящиеся bolts and nuts are subject to replacement without fail!

  1. Details of installation of assembly of the back bridge are shown on illustrations to which all references which are found in the text belong.
  2. Remove back wheels.
  3. On models 163.174 (ML 55 AMG) empty the fuel tank (see the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases), tie up an additional tank to a longitudinal beam.
  4. Disconnect the brake line (111h) from a flexible hose (111e).
  5. Remove basic arms of brake hoses / cables (111f) from longitudinal beams of a frame.
  6. Remove wheel sensors (L6/3, L6/2).
  7. At the corresponding complete set remove a guard of system of production of the fulfilled gases from a stretcher of the back bridge (1).
  8. In the right forward part of a guard you otboltit a basic arm of a cable of the drive of the parking brake (1h).
  9. Release a hose of ventilation of a case of back differential (55) from a clamp on the fuel tank, - except models 163.174 (ML 55 AMG).
  10. Release a fastening bolt nut to a stretcher of a longitudinal bracket of fastening of the fuel tank (109).
  11. Disconnect back cables of the drive of the parking brake (112a) from the regulator (110b) (see the Head Tormoznaya and auxiliary systems).
  12. Release hummock assemblies (112a) from intermediate clamps on a frame.
  13. Remove the basic arm of hummock assembly (112b) installed at the left on floor panels.
  14. Disconnect from back differential and tie up the driveshaft (106) to a frame.
  15. Disconnect from a stretcher (1) a control sheaf (1r).
  16. On the models equipped with xenon headlights disconnect from the top support draft of the regulator of level of landing (120a).
  17. Remove from the lower cross lever rack-mount assembly (6j).
  18. Squeeze out of stupichny assembly the top spherical support (91a).
  19. Prop up assembly of back differential, - use special adaptation.
  20. Turn out bolts (1s and 1d) fastenings of a stretcher and accurately omit assembly of the back bridge, trying not to press brake cables and tubes.

On models 163.174 (ML 55 AMG) at first you priopustit assembly of the bridge and release a hose of ventilation of differential (55) from a clamp on a wall of the additional fuel tank.

  1. Examine assembly components on existence of signs of damage, replace the failed details.
  2. In case of need disconnect from longitudinal beams and remove rack-mount assemblies (6j) or the top cross levers of a suspension bracket (91).
  3. Also in case of need remove a stretcher and make replacement of rubber pillows of support of a suspension bracket of differential, extraction/landing of plugs is made by means of a special extractor.
  4. Installation is made upside-down, - before installation carefully smooth out the surfaces of interface of the bridge (1) and longitudinal beams, in case of need eliminate deformations of surfaces, also banish a tap bolted openings in the floor panel under bolts of fastening of a stretcher (1s and 1d). Track that the directing fingers (a) got to reception openings in beams. Final tightening of elements of fastening of cross levers (if removed) is made only after lowering of the car on the earth, - at installation track that assembly of the bridge held strictly horizontal position, take care of the correct combination of landing tags on beams (b). Do not forget about need of performance of replacement of sealing elements of nipple sockets of hydraulic lines.
  5. In conclusion modify the level of working liquid and pump over a brake path (see the Head Tormoznaya and auxiliary systems), check oil level in differential.
  6. Modify the direction of optical axes of headlights and execute adjustment of geometry of a suspension bracket (see the Part suspension bracket Geometry).
